Augmented Factory

Augmented Factory allows the creation of technical manuals in augmented reality and make them accessible from anywhere, without additional costs, so that operators can see on the machine itself, how each procedure should be performed (start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and etc.), indicating where, with what and how each step must be completed in augmented reality.

Components

  • AR Aplication: Allows experts and operators to create and visualize digitized procedures in augmented or mixed reality about the machine itself.
    • Hololens
    • Android & iOS
  • Platform: Web platform where all the information is stored (information, users, procedures, steps, images, videos, 3D models), with an interface to manage all this content.
    • Backend: Headless CMS
    • Frontend: Rect
    • Cloud: AWS
  • Editor 3D (Unity WebGL): A web editor to create or edit the procedure and its steps. It allows you to upload 3D models, animate each part of the machine or tool, include recommendations or warnings in the form of text, images or videos, all to indicate how to correctly carry out the procedure, all in a quick and simple way.
  • Model Builder: Web service that allows you to convert 3D models into a more optimal format for the graphics engine and allows you to view said model in the different tools.

Solution

The objective of this project is to digitize the knowledge of the experts, saving the know-how in a fast and simple way, about start-ups, assembly, maintenance, diagnosis or any procedure carried out on machinery of the company. In this way, with the digitized knowledge, it is distributed to other people or companies, to enable technical personnel regardless of their experience and avoid the displacement of qualified personnel, train new employees, or serve as a verification guide for occasional procedures where it's easy to forget a step.

This platform, Augmented Factory, allows the client, in an autonomous and simple way, to create step-by-step guides in augmented reality of all their procedures through a 3D editor on the web platform, or through a smartphone or hololens in augmented reality.

In this way, they can associate a technical manual in augmented reality with each piece of equipment that they make available to their customers or operators.

Benefits

  • Digitization of knowledge and knowhow
  • Reduction of time in the execution of processes
  • Centralized and accessible information anywhere in the world
  • Reduction of costs of displacement of specialized personnel
  • 15% fewer errors at each step
  • 40% reduction in incident resolution time
