Synth Riders – Apple Vision Pro Version

It’s official—Synth Riders is releasing alongside Apple Vision Pro! The game will be available to download via Apple Arcade at no additional cost to subscribers on launch day, February 2nd.

Players on Apple Vision Pro will have access to an extensive music library of all 73 songs from the base game, including four free tracks from the recently released Electro Swing Essentials 2 pack.


Re-imagined for hand tracking

We were inspired to re-imagine Synth Riders gameplay, enabling full hand tracking support for the first time. The feeling of catching beats with your own two hands is nothing short of magical!

Stunning visuals

We created a brand-new stage for Apple Vision Pro where the visuals are perfectly synchronized to the beat of every song, creating a mesmerizing retro-futuristic audio-reactive environment. 


A spectrum of immersion

You’ll be able to choose between full immersion or watch as your very room becomes a portal to the retro-futuristic world of Synth Riders.

New look and feel

New brand visuals and audio-reactivity effects permeate through the whole game, not just the songs – menu navigation and the holistic user experience reflect the latest and greatest audio-reactivity Synth Riders has to offer.

This re-imagined version for Apple Vision Pro brings it all together while taking advantage of the new device in several unique ways:

  • Hand tracking. Experience the classic Synth Riders notes and rails with your hands, with new visual effects that make players feel the music and movement in a whole new way.
  • New retro-futuristic environments. Unique, audio-reactive environments with dynamic visuals synchronized to the beat of each song.
  • Levels of immersion. Choose between full immersion or watch as your very room becomes a portal to the retro-futuristic world of Synth Riders.
  • Brand update. Experience a new look and feel for the Synth Riders brand, with an updated user experience, signaling a new era for the game.

My contributions to this project included:

  • Full adaptation of the base project for Apple Vision Pro, migrating key systems and ensuring compatibility with VisionOS and spatial computing standards.

  • Performance optimization to ensure smooth visuals and responsive gameplay on Apple Vision Pro.

  • Development of native Swift plugins for Unity, bridging Unity with Apple services and enabling access to VisionOS features via Swift, fully compatible with the Apple Vision Pro environment.

  • Integration with Apple and company backend servers to manage user profiles, scores, cloud sync, and more, enabling a seamless connected experience.

  • Design and implementation of a new user interface, tailored for spatial interaction and optimized for hand tracking and 3D space ergonomics.

  • Creation of custom Unity editor tools to streamline internal workflows and empower designers and artists to build and edit content efficiently within the PolySpatial environment.

  • Close collaboration with Unity’s technical team, actively contributing to the improvement of PolySpatial and helping advance Unity’s support for Apple Vision Pro during its early adoption phase.
